Ethical Oversight

The International Journal of New Findings in Health and Educational Sciences (IJHES) is committed to maintaining high standards of research ethics and publication integrity. The journal follows the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) concerning ethical oversight, including informed consent, research involving human participants and animals, protection of vulnerable populations, confidentiality of data, and responsible editorial and publishing practices.

Research Involving Human Participants

For studies involving human participants, authors must ensure that the research has received appropriate approval from the relevant Institutional Review Board (IRB), Research Ethics Committee, or equivalent institutional body before the research is conducted, where applicable.

The manuscript should clearly state the name of the approving ethics committee or institution and the relevant approval or reference number, where available.

Authors must explain how informed consent was obtained from participants. Where written informed consent was required, this should be clearly stated in the manuscript.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Participants and patients have a right to privacy. Identifying information, photographs, medical records, or other personal data should not be published unless they are essential for legitimate scientific purposes and appropriate written informed consent for publication has been obtained from the participant or, where applicable, a parent or legal guardian.

Authors should remove unnecessary identifying information when preparing manuscripts. Patient or participant data must not be altered, fabricated, or falsified for the purpose of protecting anonymity.

When there is reasonable doubt that anonymity can be adequately protected, authors should obtain informed consent for publication.

Research Involving Animals

Studies involving animals must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international standards for the ethical treatment and welfare of animals.

Authors should provide information regarding relevant ethical approval and identify the institution or ethics committee responsible for the approval, where applicable. The manuscript should also indicate compliance with appropriate animal welfare regulations and guidelines.

Vulnerable Populations

Research involving children, individuals who may have limited capacity to provide informed consent, or other vulnerable populations must include appropriate ethical safeguards.

Authors should demonstrate that informed consent or assent and, where required, consent from a parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative was obtained in accordance with applicable ethical requirements.

Confidential Data

Authors, reviewers, and editors must respect the confidentiality of research participants and unpublished research data. Personal, confidential, or sensitive information should be handled in accordance with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

Ethical Compliance and Documentation

Ethics approval must be obtained before the research is conducted, where ethical approval is required. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their research complies with all applicable institutional, national, and international ethical requirements.

IJHES reserves the right to request additional information, documentation, ethics approval letters, informed consent statements, or other supporting evidence from authors when necessary to assess compliance with ethical standards.

If ethical concerns arise before or after publication, the journal may investigate the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable publication ethics principles and COPE recommendations.
